Lunch box rejects become stars of my canvas.

I am painting a new series called Lunch Box Rejects. I have plenty of daily inspiration for this work with kids leaving their rejects on the kitchen bench. I collect the so-called rejects bring them to my studio and arrange a simple still life to paint. Usually, items of fruit give me ample opportunity to practice shape form and composition. These items are common and rejected by some, yet they remind me the simple things in life often bring me back to the present moment. It got me thinking about what I value and where I want to spend my time.
