Fear of making mistakes.

Where do these fears come from anyway? And why do they surface just before starting something like art?

I find it helpful to consider mistakes are fully welcome in the art-making process. And for me, there is a wonderful freedom in making mistakes and noticing the potential new direction they are revealing to me. Having the safety of paint and canvas to make mistakes has helped me to see the value of allowing the process to unfold and trust in the process a little more each time. For me, it is a little-by-little process that is building over time slowly building trust in the process.
